Violetstar closed her eyes, thinking of all the good times she had with Otterwhisker.

Shadowpaw smiled and licked her shoulder before pushing her muzzle into her chest, relaxing greatly. She eventually fell asleep on her feet, leaning against her unknowingly.

OOC: I know. =3 It's dark in the leaders den, normally, and it's raining, so she should look kinda purplish right now. =D

(She's not exactly purple, she's a grayish-blue but in the dark her fur is tinted purple.)

Violetstar nodded. "I know we will...I'm sure..."

when the story was done, Shadowpaw got to her paws, pushing her weariness away, and snuggled with her; She rested her head on Violetstar's shoulder and put one pow on her's lightly, pressing herself against her leader. "It'll be alright..." She whispered comfortingly. "we'll make it through dark times together." She knew it sounded lame, but simple words like that meant l a lot to her, so she assumed it would for the purple warrior.

(huh huh huh, that's okay)

Violetstar nodded. "Very well." Oh Otterwhisker, please forgive me for this! She thought. "Well..." Violetstar began, closing her eyes and breathing in the sweet air around her. Memories flooded back to her, sending few tears down her cheeks. "Well," She mewed again. "One day, I was at a gathering. I met this tom there. His name was Otterwhisker, from RiverClan. We became friends when we first began talking. I felt...a strange feeling, a connection to him, really. We met every gathering, and soon every night at the border. It was like love at first sight. We had a lot in common, yet we were so different! Well, one day...I became pregnant with his kits. Luckily, I hid it by eating very little. So, I looked like everybody else. Prey was running good, so we all looked big and fat, I guess. When I was visiting him one night, the kits were born. One she-kit, and one tom. The she-kit we named Gingerkit. the tom was called Stormkit. I gave them up to Otterwhisker to raise them in RiverClan. He told his clan that he didn't know them, but just found them. RiverClan believed him and took them in." She sighed. The story almost done. "Nobody knew...nobody knew about what happened with me and Otterwhisker. Everybody assumed that we were just good friends, and left it at that. Otterwhisker died not long after he gave our kits to RiverClan. He drowned. In StarClan, he talked with our kits every night, making sure that they knew who their real parents were. They were told not to tell anybody of it. When Otterwhisker told them, he told me this so I knew that they knew. Then I never saw him again. I was forced with the pain of watching our kits grow up as warriors in a different clan. They were given warrior names, ones that I had no say in. They were called Stormflame and Gingerstep." She mewed. "That's why I was sad. I saw Otterwhisker again, and he told me that Stormflame died of Greencough...."

"Of course." Shadowpaw purred tiredly. "You can trust me, I promise..."

OOC: Just in time for my dad to set up my shower! XD so if I don't reply, I'm in the shower. Sorry! ^^;

(Okay, I'm back.)

Violetstar thought for a moment. "Well, okay. Only if you promise not to tell anybody." She mewed.

(Dinner, BRB!)

Shadowpaw looked up at her with respect and... a small bit of love. "I didn't. That's amazing! But... what happened? You can tell me; I told you, after all." She said, offering a small smile.

"Is that all? Your mother loved you more than anything, I know. We were good friends, best friends." Violetstar mewed. "She was probably giving you support. I know how your feeling, ever sense your family died. I've had the same feeling for so long now...I was once a medicine cat. Did you know that? But, I decided that I was not destined to be a Medicine Cat, so I trained as a warrior. I soon became deputy, and leader. But...some things happened when I was a warrior. Some things, that are better left unsaid."

Shadowpaw swallowed nervously, keeping her eyes shut. She knew she could trust her... but it hurt. "I... I saw... mommy..." she choked quietly, hoping she wouldn't regret telling anyone. She didn't like secrets. the fact she was still suffering was a big enough secret.

"Why would you ask?" Violetstar mewed. "You don't have to answer, if you don't want to."

"O-oh... a-alright... thanks." Shadowpaw said, a little frightened now. But it was alright, Violetstar was beside her, after all...

"Medicine cat apprentices, yes. But it's unusual for a warrior apprentice to. But it could happen I suppose.." Violetstar mewed, looking down at the black she-cat.

"..."Shadowpaw understood that anyone would be sad for a dead warrior; No one deserved to die. But.. should she tell her? Maybe just a random question, huh? "...Violetstar... Can apprentices... visit Starclan... Like, dream about it or something..." She asked, trying not to let her wet fur prickle; It would be all too obvious if it did.

"Oh...I uh, met an old friend of mine..." Violetstar mewed. "His son has died of greencough." She couldn't bring herself to tell that it was Otterwhisker she met, and that he was her mate. She couldn't tell and give away her secret. Not now, maybe not ever.

Shadowpaw offered a weary smile and shook herself off as best she could before walking and and gratefully lying down beside her leaner. "Why... are you sad..." She whispered, closing her eyes, but listening with genuine curiosity and care.

"Of course!" Violetstar purred with a hint of sadness. "Sorry if I don't seem too happy. Come, lay down. Don't stay in the rain, you could catch a cough!" It made her think of the news that Otterwhisker gave her. 'Stormflame died of Greencough.' She shuddered.

OOC: Back, yay~ =D

IC: "I-I thought you-you'd like t-to know I-I got back s-safely..." Shadowpaw forced and began swaying. "I-it's raining t-too..."

Violetstar awoke to Shadowpaw's voice. She looked at the young apprentice, yawning. "Yes, Shadowpaw?" She asked.

Shadowpaw slowly woke to rain, heavily pouring down. Her fun was soaked and she was freezing. "Ac, rain!" She tried to say, but it was rough and hurt her throat. She forced herself onto her paws and ran back to camp, shaking violently. When she was back at camp, everyone was inside their dens. She slowly trudged to her leader's den, knowing she would want to know when she had returned. "V-Violetstar?" she called shakily.

OOC: BRB dinner time~ XP

A large brown tom cat with a white muzzle and long whiskers came from the StarClan version of RiverClan's territory. Violetstar breathed a sigh of relief, walking over to the tom. The two touched noses, but then the brown tom stepped back. "No..., this isn't right. Violetstar, you must go." He mewed, his eyes reflected sadness. "Why?...Is that why you never came to see me...?" She mewed, but shook her head. "H-hows our kits..." She mewed. It was true, she did have kits with Otterwhisker. But it was a secret, one that nobody knew about. The day they were born, she gave them up to Otterwhisker for him to raise in RiverClan. He had lied to his clan, saying that he had no idea who they were and just found them. "You mean Stormflame and Gingerstep?" He asked, twitching his whiskers. "They are both well...except, Stormflame died last moon of Greencough." He mewed. Violetstar gasped. "Is he with you...?" Otterwhisker nodded. Stormflame and Gingerstep knew that Violetstar and Ottwerwhisker were their real parents instead of Raventalon and Cloudsky. "May I see him?" Violetstar asked, swishing her tail. Otterwhisker shook his head to her dismay. "Another time, my love. But we must part and go our separate ways, quick! Before anybody finds out that we met tonight." he mewed, slowly vanishing from sight. Violetstar turned, running away as darkness took her.

"After all, it looks like you've become quite attached to the leader and the other way around." Her mother mewed. "I know that I sure had some great times with Violetstar; She's a truly great cat." Her father agreed. Shadowpaw looked away, trying to hold back another wave of tears. "Now, I think you should hurry home. It's starting to rain and you'll get sick." Her big brother said and they began fading. "No! No, don't leave me, please!" Shadowpaw cried, watching them desperately. "Be safe, Shadowpaw." Her little brother mewed with a smile. "No, I can't do this alone! PLEASE!"

Violetstar flickered open her eyes. She was in a forest, StarClan's forest. She had been here many times before, searching for one cat in particular. But she could never find them. "O-Otterwhisker!" She called out, peering from behind a tree. "Otterwhisker?!" She bounded through the star-filled forest. Soon she reached a shining river. "Otterwhisker?" She mewed, crossing over the river. She knew she wasn't supposed to be here, but that wouldn't stop her.

OOC: ugh, I fixed it. Thanks for pointing it out. ^^;

IC: "Shadowpaw..." Shadowpaw quickly looked to the voice, not knowing these fields of where she was. "M-mother..." She choked. she ran to the group of cats, looking up at them with tears. Her mother smiled and licked her cheeks, ridding the tears. "Don't cry, please. Be happy." Her father said. "Big sis is strong, she'll make it through for sure!" Her brother said. He was the littlest of the bunch, that's why she was considered older. But her other brother was bigger. "Yes, Shadowpaw. You've got the whole clan on your side, enjoy your life." he said softly.
