ShadowClan's Camp

(Smoothpaw!? Again, rofl.)
(IDK maybe she could meet her family in StarClan when she sleeps...Violetstar is going to dream with StarClan too, to visit an old friend of hers..)

OOC: Shadowpaw's still sleeping under that huge rock and not moving, I dunno what else to put! XD SORRY!!!

Violetstar sat up after a while of waiting. She had important things to do, but what? Today was a good day, not busy. She had the time to relax, something that doesn't happen very often. With a sigh, Violetstar walked over her den, went inside, and decided that a nap was needed.

Shadowpaw didn't go back. She simply lied beneath the rock, silently crying. She would stay for the night; Like a silent vigil. She'd stayed by her family before they were buried and mourned for them in secret for many times, but this was the first time she'd planed on going a one-night-stand. She buried her muzzle into her fur, curling into a tight ball. She didn't move a whisker; The only signs of her being alive the faint rise and fall of her flank.

Violetstar sighed, sitting down in the center of camp. She waited patently for Shadowpaw to return.

Shadowpaw nodded gratefully, jumping down and leaving to the pine forests. She padded all the way to four-tree's and looked up at the huge stone. Her shoulders raised and shook slightly as her head lowered, tears falling onto the ground as she began crying. She refused to let others see her in such a state; Crying for her dead family. It pained her deeply, but she simply hid it with her excitement.

Violetstar nodded. "I guess so, it couldn't hurt to. Just be careful okay?"

"Mine is being in pain." Shadowpaw grumbled and stood. She jumped back up and walked towards her leader with a slight limp. "Hey, mo-" She cut herself off sharply. "Violetstar, can I go out hunting, alone this time? I've always wanted to go on my own!" She asked, smiling up at her. She felt a twinge of ice; A cold feeling in her chest, but ignored it best she could.

OOC: All my characters have problems; Why?! XD

"Well," Violetstar began, "Everybody has different talents."

"Sure I can! And I don't wanna sleep in my den; It gets lonely." Shadowpaw said and jumped down. "Stray cat strut!" She sang and strut across the fallen tree. "There was some kind of cat on some kind of twoleg thing and it was walking on it's hind legs; Strange, huh?" she said and got on her hind legs. She knew she couldn't do it, but she wanted to try anyway. This resulted in her getting off the log the quick way; Falling. She hit the ground with a loud thud and groan painfully. "That hurt." She muttered.

OOC: Puss in boots, lolz~ And I make Shadowpaw so lively, don't I? XD

Violetstar laughed. "You can't sleep on me! Sleep in your own den!"

"Yeah, messing up my mind!" Shadowpaw said and climbed onto her back, resting her head on top of Violetstar's. "Now I need to sleep, goodnight!" She teased and closed her eyes, pretending to sleep.

Violetstar just laughed as well. "Confusing? Good."

"You're confusing me! It's just a stupid puzzle, dear Starclan!" Shadowpaw yelled, beginning to bounce up and down. "I don't know!" A few other apprentices laughed and the young, black furred cat began gently biting her leader's tail. "You has forced me into battle mode, roar!" She laughed.

(Indeed)

Violetstar twitched her whiskers. "But that answer would need to depend on what I did with that mouse. Do I eat it? Or did I let it free to roam camp? Also, if the mouse was male, it couldn't give birth to any children, while a female would be able to. Would that mouse meet any other mice, or stay by itself it's whole life until it had died?"

OOC: it's just a puzzle! XD Alright, back to the RP we've been OCing for a while. :P

IC: "Do you have an answer?" Shadowpaw asked, awaiting her leader's reply.

(See, I was thinking of that, but the world is full of mice, a male is bound to show up. )

OOC: lolz. the solution is that it's, indeed, female... but they can't repopulate on their own! You end up with a single mouse, that one that you have. :3

(I don't get it. I eat it, or it's a boy and doesn't have kids.)

OOC: I dunno! It's just a puzzle XD

IC: Shadowpaw shook her head. "Incorrect. Well, THIS is a vexing development." She chuckled. "Look over the puzzle carefully. The answer's quite simple; It throws you into complexity though. Remember, three hints." She gave an assuring smile and nosed her neck lightly. "It's okay, wise leader." She purred and gave her a swift lick on the shoulder.

(I don't think cats do math!)

Violetstar thought for a moment. "96." She mewed.

Shadowpaw grinned. "Pay close attention, if you will. Mice are known for their ability to multiply at breathtaking speeds. The type of mouse we have gives birth once a month, birthing 12 babies each time. Baby mice mature and can give birth two months after they are born. You picked up one of these darling baby mice and brought it to camp the day after it was born. In ten months, how many mice will you have?" She explained. "You may have a total of three, only three, hints."

"Well, let's so about your Twitchy-Whiskers Problem." Violetstar answered, curling her tail around her paws.

Shadowpaw smiled smugly. "Shall we settle this duel with a simple puzzle, or merely a question and logical thinking?" She asked, circling her leader. She faced Violetstar and drew her claws on the bark. "I have a rather... challenging problem twitching my whiskers." A few apprentices gathered to watch, listening to her calm words. "You choose, great leader; Bearing the nine lives of our ancestors." she said and flicked her tail. Despite the act she put on, she had a playful, care-free glint in her eyes.

Violetstar dropped to the ground on her hutches. She lashed her tail playfully. "Challenge accepted, Shadowpaw." She mewed, narrowing her eyes.
